Samaritans Run raises £260 for the Year of Mental Health

 

BCF’s Marketing Manager, Teri Kearsey, took part in the 36th annual SAMARITANS Run on Saturday 1st July and raised over £260 for Brighter Berkshire and the 2017 Year of Mental Health.

The event, organised by Jackie and the team at Samaritans Bracknell, Wokingham, Ascot & Districts, was a huge success. Runners received a goody bag, finishers medal and refreshments.

Teri said “A big thank you to Jackie and the Samaritans team and all of the hard working Marshalls that made this event a success. It was a great course, the atmosphere was fantastic and I was delighted to take part to raise vital funds to support the local community.”

 

Samaritans offers a totally confidential and 24-hour service of emotional listening support to anyone going through a difficult time. The service is offered by telephone (Freecall 116123), email, face to face and text. The local branch is run entirely by volunteers and the branch depends solely on donations and fundraising efforts to maintain its service.
